Creating story chains

Story Chain Scheduling in Sked: What You Need to Know

At Sked, we understand the importance of storytelling in social media especially when it comes to Instagram. That's why we support the ability to create, schedule, and automatically post story chains directly within the platform.

To create a story chain in Sked, click on the "Create Post" button and make sure you select an Instagram account only, as story posting is currently supported for Instagram only.

You can include a mix of photos and videos in your story chain. As you build your content, you'll see a live preview of your story on the right side of the screen to help you visualize how it will appear once published.

However, to ensure the best possible performance and reliability, story chains are currently limited to a maximum of three frames per post.

Why the Limit?

Previously, Sked supported story chains of up to 10 frames. While this allowed for more elaborate storytelling, we found that chains with four or more frames were significantly more prone to errors. In many cases, these longer story sequences would either:

  • Get stuck during the publishing process, or

  • Fail to post entirely.

After monitoring and reviewing these issues closely, our team made the decision to cap story chains at three frames.

What This Means for You

When planning your story content in Sked:

  • Keep your story chains concise -  aim for no more than three frames.

  • If you have more content to share, consider splitting it into separate story posts scheduled in 15 minutes interval

  • You can add a sticker URL and label to your story; however, please note that the same URL and label will appear on all frames once the story is published.

We're always working to improve the platform, and our team continues to monitor this functionality. If technical stability improves in the future, we’ll consider increasing the frame limit again.
