Editing Media in that is associated with a draft or Post.

In the Library.

When media is associated with a draft or post, you'll see a small visual indicator on the bottom left thumbnail. When you edit an item that's currently linked to a draft or post, we'll automatically duplicate the item and create a new version that you will make changes to. This is to prevent the accidental modification of media that is already scheduled or has been through an approval workflow.

You'll see a small text notification advising you are editing a copy, and changes won't be applied to the draft or post media.

This image is being used in an upcoming post. You are creating a new version.

From the create post window.

Media that is edited from within the Create Post window will always edit the item that is used in the post or draft, but will not edit the original stored in the Library.

This allows you to make changes like cropping, without worrying you are making permanent changes to the source file.
