Intro

Welcome to Labels, your new AI boosted creative and reporting tool in Sked. In this guide, we’ll walk you through creating your first labels, generating topics, assigning labels to new posts, applying labels to past posts in insights, and the labels reporting functionality.

Note: Labels is included on the Professional and Enterprise plans. Speak to support if you'd like to trial labels.

Getting started - Grouping accounts and Brand Descriptions

Groups

To get started with labels, you’ll need to have all of your social accounts grouped. Head to the social accounts page to create your first group if you haven’t already. Sked Home will also prompt you to create a group when you open Sked too.

Brand Description

Brand descriptions are used to power topic suggestions, and are taken into account by our AI assistant to create better, more relevant suggestions and ideas. Add in a short elevator pitch about your brand; include what you do, your audience, your location and anything else that helps define who you are and your social media goals.

Creating Labels - Captivate AI suggestions

To set up your first group of labels, head to the Workshop > Labels menu from the left navigation bar, and select the first group of accounts you’d like to create labels for.

Captivate will analyze your previous posts for the accounts in the group and suggest 4 content pillars that you’re likely already using. These can be saved as content labels, ready to use.

If they need an adjustment, use the pencil tool to change the Label Name, Description and Color in the edit window.

Need more labels than the four suggested? Click Create Label to create one from scratch, add a name, description, color and hit save.

Note - The Label description is used in conjunction with the Brand Description to create more relevant Captivate AI responses when generating post ideas or captions, so don’t skip this step!

Content Pillars vs Campaigns

You’ll notice that you have the options of setting a Label as a Content Pillar or a Campaign. They both serve the same functionality when being assigned to a post, and used in Sked Insights for Label reporting, however only content pillar labels are built to incorporate Captivate AI suggestions for topics and captions.

We think that content pillars are best described as an ongoing theme (defined in your social media strategy), while campaigns relate to a specific objective or promotion and are usually time limited;. Posts can have multiple labels, so you can apply both a content pillar and campaign label to a post as needed for flexibility.

Note: Old labels can be archived once no longer in use, and will be hidden from the create post and insights windows.

Generating Topics

We want to make the process of generating ideas for social posts at scale both fast and easy. One of the main challenges for social media managers is coming up with a consistent stream of interesting ideas that align with your social strategy.

Think of topics as ideas for social posts, and our way of bridging that gap from “I need some ideas’ to “job done”, while staying aligned with strategy.

Captivate will generate topics that will layer your brand and content pillars to create ideas that are relevant to your social media strategy, and should contain customized elements incorporated from your group description.

Assign Labels to a new or scheduled post

Labels can be assigned to posts in the create/edit post window. Select the label to assign in the Labels, drop down, and select from the desired Content Pillar and Campaigns. Multiple labels can be applied to a post, any combination of content pillars and campaigns.

For customers on eligible plans, selected labels will flow through to Insights once published.

Using Labels in Captivate AI

Supercharge your Captivate AI outputs with labels. Adding a label to a post will layer the description from the content pillar with your brand information to create more relevant caption suggestions. Higher quality descriptions will create higher quality outputs, a small time investment up front will pay dividends for accuracy and quality in the future.

Applying labels to a past post in insights

Labels can be applied to your existing posts within Sked Insights. This is easiest to process from the Content tab where you can see all posts within the period selected.

Deleting, Archiving and Moving Labels

Archiving Labels

Archiving a label hides it from the drop down selector inside the create post window and insights, but the labels will remain on past and future posts in the archive, upcoming posts, and insights.

Use this option when retiring a content pillar or at the conclusion of a campaign.

Deleting Labels

Deleting a label will remove it from all past and future posts. You will be prompted to confirm the deletion of the label by entering the text delete label.

⚠️ This action is permanent and the label is not recoverable. The posts will remain.

Moving accounts between groups

Labels are tied to brand groups, and cannot be moved between brand groups at this time.

⚠️ Moving a social account between brand groups will cause the labels to be removed from the posts associated with the account being transferred. You will be asked to confirm this action.
