Getting started

In this guide, we'll step through the details on creating your first reports using Sked's Custom Reports tool, covering both One-off Report and Recurring Reports.

This guide focuses on the overview of organic social reporting.
Read more on Meta Ads Reports and Labels Reporting in Customer reports.

One-off report

One-off reports are used to present insights from your chosen time window, and can include any number of social media accounts, from within groups or across groups, can include metrics and performance from Meta Ads accounts or campaigns, and can also include specific labels insights for campaigns or content pillars.

Step 1 - Choose period & accounts.

Once you have selected the type of report, select the social accounts you would like to include. You can quick select whole groups from the dropdown, or select individual accounts from within or across groups as well.

You can include any specific labels you wish to include in addition to social account level metrics pages.

Select the time period to include in the report, and any comparison period you wish to include. Sked will automatically include the previous period for comparison, but you can customise the lookback to other periods using the Choose comparison period date selector.

Give your report a memorable name - This will show on the report cover page.
Note: This can also be edited at the final step.

You can also add a co-branding to the report; upload your own logo, and add in your brand name and prepared by details. These will appear on the title pages.

Step 2 - Choose pages

You can now choose which pages to be included in the report. The pages are shown in a descending hierarchy, from All Accounts, Group and Individual accounts.

All Accounts will aggregate and combine metrics from all of the social accounts selected into each of the pages, no matter the type of account or the group they belong to. This is great when you're running intra account comparisons between brands, or needing to provide high level summary reporting across brand or groups.

Note: The All Accounts options will be hidden when the social accounts selected on the previous page all belong to a single group.

Groups

Pages at the group level will combine metrics from accounts within a single group into a performance table and interactions card to highlight comparisons across individual accounts.

We'll only the Individual social accounts selected at the previous step in the performance table.

Social Accounts
Pages at the social account level will show metrics from only the account selected, and will not combine any metrics. Choose the pages you want to include in the overall report by each account.

Quick actions on the left side of the pane can be used to select similar sets of different pages across all your groups or accounts.

When ready, hit Next to preview your report.

Step 3 - Report preview, Captivate performance summaries

Your report will now preview in a window inside the report builder, so you can see exactly how it looks, what's included, and proof and edit your Captivate AI performance summary, as well as send or download the PDF.

Edit AI Summaries

Captivate summaries also allow for customisation and editing, so you can add your own expertise insights and guidance to the included analysis. You can also edit the analysis type to change the length, detail or language.

Select Edit AI Summary to the edit the analysis. The summary editing allows for rich text edits including formatting, plus you can adjust the type of summary included.

Click Edit > Settings to:

  • Edit the length of the generated summary; short, medium and large.

  • Change the inclusions in the summary, and ask it to adjust the level of detail using the Type of output.

  • Change the language. We'll default to the language that is set up in the group

Finish

When complete, hit save and you can send it directly from Sked, download, or save it for later. Saving the report will return you to the list of One Off reports on the first step of Custom Reports.

Recurring report

Recurring reports are used to ongoing insights on a periodic basis. Once set up with the desired social media accounts, Meta Ads accounts or campaigns, or Labels reports, they will run your selected frequency and send you an email notification when there is a new report to download.

The overall set up of a recurring report is similar, however there are some key differences in the choose periods step.

Step 1 - Choose period & accounts

When creating a recurring report, the time frames are preset to Last Week, Last Month, Last Quarter and Last Year. Selecting a time frame is not supported.

The comparison period follows the same time period selection, allowing you to define a preset window covering the previous week, month or quarter against the same period last month, last quarter or last year, allowing for seasonal reports across groups.

Add your intended recipients from your Sked users list. Users added here will receive the email notification when the report is ready. We'll include you in the list automatically as the owner of the report.

Note: At launch, we only support automatic email sending to existing users on your Sked account.

Step 2 and Step 3

Both steps follow the same workflows as a One off report for page selection, editing, and Captivate AI summaries.

Saved reports will appear in your recurring reports tab, and a notification will also show on the Sked Home group summary when a new recurring report is available to download.
