How Sked connects to your Instagram account
How Sked connects to your Instagram account Sked connects to Instagram using official Meta APIs — the same infrastructure Meta provides to all authorised business tools. You don't need to share your Instagram password with us, and we never store one.
How the connection works
When you connect an Instagram account in Sked, you're taken through Facebook Login for Business — Meta's own authentication flow. You log in directly on Meta's website, review the permissions Sked is requesting, and approve them. Meta then issues Sked a secure access token tied to your Business account.
At no point does Sked see or handle your Instagram or Facebook password.
What access Sked requests
During the connection flow, Sked requests access to:
- Publish and schedule content to your Instagram Business account
- Read post performance and analytics data
- Access your Facebook Page (required by Meta for Instagram Business API access)
- Manage comments on published posts (for First Comment and Inbox features)
You'll see exactly what's being requested before you approve anything. You can review or revoke Sked's access at any time through your Facebook account settings.
What Sked does not do
- Store your Instagram or Facebook password
- Require two-factor authentication codes
- Log into Instagram on your behalf using your credentials
- Access personal Instagram accounts — only Business accounts linked to a Facebook Page are supported
Connecting your account
- Go to Settings → Accounts in Sked
- Click Add account and select Instagram
- You'll be redirected to Facebook Login — sign in with the Facebook account that manages your Instagram Business account
- Review the requested permissions and click Continue
- Select the Instagram account and Facebook Page to connect, then confirm
Once connected, Sked will publish to your account directly via Meta's API.
Already connected?
If your account was connected previously, you may be prompted to reconnect through the new flow. This is a one-time step to upgrade your connection to the API-based method. Your scheduled posts, content, and settings are not affected.
