Post Instagram carousels with up to 20 slides

You can now schedule and publish Instagram posts with up to 20 photos and videos in a carousel.

Instagram carousels published through the Instagram API can hold up to 20 photos and videos. Build the carousel in Create post the way you always have, then keep adding media past the old limit of 10.

Add up to 20 slides in Create post

  1. Open Create post and select an Instagram account.
  2. Add your photos and videos. You can add up to 20 items.
  3. Drag the items into the order you want them to appear.
  4. Write your caption, then schedule or publish the post as usual.

Requirements

The 20-slide limit applies to Instagram accounts that publish through the Instagram API. Accounts that publish through the Instagram poster on a phone stay at 10 slides.

If your account still stops you at 10, reconnect it for Instagram API publishing:

  1. Go to Settings, then Accounts.
  2. Click Add account and select Instagram.
  3. Sign in with the Facebook account that manages your Instagram Business account and approve the permissions.
  4. Select the Instagram account and its Facebook Page, then confirm.
  5. Return to Create post and add your media again.

Limits

  • Up to 20 photos and videos per carousel on the Instagram API.
  • Other Instagram carousel rules, such as media sizes and formats, still apply.

If Create post stops you at 10

Create post stops at 10 items on accounts that have not yet been connected to the Instagram API for publishing. Reconnect the account for Instagram API publishing, then add the rest of your media.
