Scheduling stories on Sked
Instagram Stories let you share moments that disappear after 24 hours. With Sked, you can schedule stories in advance — individually or as a story chain — so your content goes out exactly when you want it to.
What you can schedule
Sked supports scheduling Instagram and Facebook Stories as:
- Single story slides — one image or video per post
- Story chains — up to 10 slides published as a sequence
Each slide in a chain goes out as part of the same story burst, appearing in order in your followers' stories tray.
Supported media
- Images — JPG or PNG, recommended 9:16 ratio (1080 × 1920px)
- Videos — up to 60 seconds per slide
Story chains
When you schedule a story chain, Sked publishes all slides in sequence at the scheduled time. You can include up to 10 slides per chain — the limit set by the Instagram API when publishing a story post.
Link stickers
Link stickers in stories are no longer supported via the Sked scheduler. This feature was available through our previous publishing method and has no equivalent in the current Instagram API.
If you need to share a link in a story, you can create a notification post in Sked, with the details, and be alerted when it's time to post.
Scheduling a story
- In the Sked create post, select your Instagram account
- Choose Story as the post type
- Upload your image(s) or video(s)
- Set your date and time
- Click Schedule
For a story chain, upload multiple slides and arrange them in the order you want them to appear.
Tips
- Preview your story slides in the composer before scheduling — what you see is what gets published
- Stories publish automatically at your scheduled time; no action is needed on your phone
- Stories expire after 24 hours on Instagram; scheduling timing affects the full exposure window
