What data is available when I get started?
Here's a breakdown of historical data imports by platform.
Overview
When you connect a social profile to Sked Social, we automatically import available historical data so you can start reporting on past performance right away.
The amount of data we can retrieve depends on each platform’s API limitations. These limits vary by network, metric type, and sometimes even content format (e.g. posts vs followers).
How Historical Data Works
- Historical data is imported when a profile is first connected
- Each platform defines how far back data can be retrieved
- Some metrics have shorter lookback windows than others
- After import, data continues to update automatically over time
| Platform | Historical Lookback (First Connection) | Metric-Level Differences |
|---|---|---|
| Up to ~2 years |
- Interactions: ~6 months - Followers: ~90 days - Posts/Profile: up to ~2 years - Stories: no data available before connecting |
|
| Facebook Pages | Up to ~2 years | N/A (generally consistent across metrics) |
| Up to ~180 days (6 months) | Applies to followers, page stats, and post performance | |
| TikTok | Up to ~60 days | Applies to both profile and video insights |
| Threads | Up to ~24 months (not earlier than April 2024) | |
| Google Business Profile |
- Performance metrics: ~25 months - Reviews, Q&A, Posts: All available |
Different data types have different limits |
Data Freshness & Ongoing Updates
After the initial import:
- Data is continuously updated
- Recent metrics may be refreshed multiple times
- Engagement and performance metrics can change retroactively
Key Takeaways
- Historical data availability varies by platform and metric
- Most platforms limit how far back data can be retrieved
- Sked Social imports the maximum available data allowed by each API
- Connecting profiles earlier ensures more complete long-term reporting
