Instagram Collab posts have arrived to Sked. Add a second (or third) account to a post, and the published item will be shared between the two accounts natively, and be distributed to fans and follows of both.

Instagram Collabs are great ways of increasing reach and breadth of published content, and useful for finding audiences for new or growing accounts that share common industries, customers or brands. It's a fantastic way of tapping into larger audiences from owned channels, or partnering with other creators.

How to create a collab post on Sked:

How are collabs different from tagging or mentions?

  • If someone tags or mentions you in a photo or video, that photo or video won't be shared with your followers. If you collaborate on a post, that post will be shared with your followers.

  • If someone tags you in a photo or video, that photo or video will be automatically added to your profile unless you've chosen to manually approve posts that you're tagged in. To be added to a post as a collaborator, you have to accept the collaboration invitation.

  • If someone tags or mentions you, you will not be listed as an author of the photo or video. If you accept an invitation to collaborate on a post, you will be listed as an author.

  • You can mention other accounts in your stories. You can't add collaborators to your stories.

Notes & Limitations

  • Post metrics are only available in Sked (and all 3rd party tools) for the primary publisher. This is an API limitation.

  • The invitee must accept the collab request for the post to be shown from their account

  • You can add multiple collaborators to your post.

  • The person who created the post is the primary creator. If the original creator blocks the collaborator or the collaborator blocks the original creator, the collaboration will end. The collaborator can also leave the collaboration at any time. However, in all of these cases, the post will still be preserved on the original creator's profile.

  • If the original creator switches their account to private, only their followers can see the post.

  • Only the original creator can delete the post. If they do, it will be removed from the collaborator's profile as well.
